Write It Down—The First Step Toward Making It Real
Uncover the magic of putting your dreams on paper. This guide will walk you through visualization, journaling, and overcoming blocks to help you step into your vision. Write it down + make it clear today. Let’s dive in.
The Vision’s Real, And So Is The Path To It
That’s the beauty of your vision, there’s a blueprint (a design) attached to it. The first step on the path is writing it down + making it clear. In this blog post you’ll discover the steps for how to name it & claim it. Let’s dive right in!
Getting Clear: The First Step To Making It A Reality
When it comes to turning dreams into reality, the first step is clarity. You have to know what you want and where you’re headed in order to start the journey. The purpose of your dream or vision is to step into the role and live the experience that calls to you. But before you can do that, you have to name it and claim it. And that starts by writing it down.
Why Writing It Down Works:
Writing your dream down is powerful because it transforms a fleeting thought into something tangible. It works because clarity leads to momentum.
When you put pen to paper, you create a connection between your inner world and the physical one.
When you write, you’re given a space to explore, adjust, and refine your ideas.
It also allows you to see the pieces, test them out, and recognize the steps that you’ll carry forward.
I can’t tell you how many times I didn’t know where I was going with a project, until I sat down and wrote out my ideas. That simple act unlocked doors I didn’t know existed. It’s like throwing a stone into a lake and watching the ripples—it starts with one action, and then the ripples carry you forward. When you start writing, guidance has a way of finding you.
SAVE FOR LATER (PIN IT)
Call it intuition, inspiration, or divine intervention, but ideas and answers flow when you show up for your vision.
The Process: Bringing Your Vision to Life
Let’s get into alignment with your dream by getting it down on paper. Follow these simple steps:
Visualize Your Dream
Bring up a creative dream or experience in your mind that fills you with joy. Choose something that pulls at your heartstrings and keeps calling to you.Engage Your Senses
Spend 10–15 minutes imagining the details of this dream. What does it look like? Feel like? Smell like? Taste like? Let your imagination take over and fully immerse yourself in the experience.Write It Down
Once the visualization is complete, grab your notebook and describe it. What did you see? Who was there? How did it feel? Capture every detail, even the small ones. Give the vision a name (if you’re inspired to).Tune Into the Truth
Now, take an honest look at your vision. Were there any moments where you felt resistance or discomfort? Did doubts creep in? Write about those feelings with compassion and curiosity. Were your beliefs holding you back?
Did you feel uneasy imagining abundance or success?
Did time, space, or self-doubt cloud your visualization?
If you noticed any resistance, know that this is part of the process. Every block is an opportunity to shift and grow.
Refine Your Vision
If your vision flowed freely without resistance, that’s a wonderful sign! You’re ready to step into planning and taking actionable steps. If the opposite is true, no worries. I’ve got some tips for you below.
If you weren’t able to feel your flow right away—that’s okay. Blocks are normal, and they don’t mean your vision isn’t possible. They’re simply areas calling for a little extra attention and care.
Working The Kinks Out Of Your Vision
Here’s how you can begin to shake out the jitters, clear the distractions, and align with your vision.
-
Flow here—Belief is a deep, felt sense, an inner knowing, that your dream is not only possible but meant for you. Tap into the true purpose of your vision (create meaning) and know that your dream is worth your time.
-
Flow here—Imagine sliding through the sky, surrounded by unlimited resources ready to support you. As you glide, create solutions (a parachute or perhaps a net appears) in your mind to catch you and guide you back on track whenever needed. This practice builds trust in the process and reminds you that help is always available. Repeat the visualization until you feel some relief with allowing aid to reach you.
-
Flow here—Remember to prioritize your creativity and use small, intentional pockets of time to focus on your craft. When we treat creativity as important as everything else on our list, we naturally affirm its value in our lives.
-
Flow here—Remember to take things step by step instead of focusing on the entire vision at once. Practice builds confidence. Think of self-doubt as a wall held together by fear—when you identify and shift those “bricks,” the wall begins to crumble, making way for progress.
-
Flow here—Think of judgment and criticism as sticky tape (only as strong as the opinions you allow to stick). You wouldn’t use the wrong adhesive on something valuable, so be mindful of what you let cling to your dreams. Choose thoughts and beliefs that support, not hinder, your vision.
Your Dream Is Real
If you can feel the essence of your dream, it’s already within reach.
Your job is to stay aligned and take the steps that bring it closer to reality.
This year, keep your eyes forward. Align with your dream by claiming it, writing it down + defining it, and stepping into the role that’s waiting for you. I’m confident in the essence of your dream, because I believe there are no accidents—you were brought here, by design, to receive something meaningful from this message.
I’m just a small-town girl with a notebook, a pen, some amazing spiritual guides + divine life force—who see my value as a conduit for creativity. I still have fears, I still feel anxious about stepping into the roles on this path, but I take it one step at a time, and so can you. Your dream is worth it.
