Does The Universe Care About What You Desire?
Does the Universe care about what you desire?
That’s a good question.
So what do you think? Do you think it does?
Have there been times when you envisioned things happening, and your experience turned out exactly the way that you expected? There’s one story in particular that confirmed that the Universe really did care about what I desired.
It’s something very small, but it meant everything to me at the time.
Here's the story.
A few years ago, I was stuck in a rut. Things weren’t working out for me as I expected, and I woke up one morning in a really bad mood. Instead of staying in that bad mood, I decided to try and make myself feel better.
I looked around the apartment and noticed that it needed a change. I didn’t have that much money at the time, so I decided to remain optimistic and use what I had.
I rearranged the rooms, pulled out fresh linens and curtains, changed my office around, and at the end, lit some candles.
I was quite proud of myself.
I didn’t let my bad mood - make a bad day.
I got up and did what I thought would make me feel better, and it did. The place looked better, I felt great, and everything seemed lighter. After all was done, there was still one thing missing - a lamp for my office.
I had broken my other lamp about two weeks prior and it started to bum me out that everything looked great and that “one thing” was missing. I shrugged it off and decided to go on about my business and leave the lamp issue alone.
After a couple of minutes, I got a strong urge to take out the trash. It was so strong that I had to tell myself to relax. It’s just trash.
I didn't understand why the urge was so strong.
Then I received an inspired thought. What if there was a lamp outside?
Maybe that’s why the urge to take the trash out was so strong. I laughed at the idea, but followed my impulse anyway. Sure enough, when I walked to the dumpster, there was a small lamp outside sitting on the curb. The lamp was the perfect size and matched the decor in my home.
I started smiling from ear to ear, but as I was going to pick it up, all these negative thoughts ran through my head.
- What if someone sees me?
- What are they going to think of me?
I then heard a calm voice say, "it’s for you - isn't this exactly what you asked for?"
I went and picked it up, wiped it down when I got back to my apartment, and put the lamp right in my office. I still have the lamp to this day.
It’s quite funny that I almost let my fear of being judged have me walk away from something that was specifically meant for me.
It was placed in my path for me to see it and receive it. The even bigger lesson that I learned from that experience is that there is a force that is there - that cared enough about my desires, to place me in the path of that lamp - no questions asked.
There is no doubt that we work with a force that is broader than we are.
It sees more and knows more than our individual physical senses could possibly comprehend, and is offering us opportunity after opportunity to align with its majesty.
